Hank is an All American Steam Engine. He has the enthusiasm of a cheerleader, the strength of a titan, and the chiselled good looks of a Hollywood Hero. And he proves himself, time and again, to be a Very Useful Engine!
Hank is the second steam engine to have a cow catcher, the first being Toby. He is also the third steam engine to not have front buffers (the first two are Duke and Bertram). However, Hank has rear buffers to match the British rolling stock, and he is the third steam engine to have oval buffers (the first two are Gordon and Duchess of Hamilton). He is also the third engine with a royal blue body and red wheels (The first two are Mallard in Thomas and the Great Railway Show and Fergus). Hank is also the fourth engine to have a tender with eight wheels (The first three are Flying Scotsman, Mallard and Spencer).
